Articles of Confederation

In Class: Today the students were given two worksheets. One was a handout on the Articles of Confederation and the other a worksheet - a graphic organizer. The students read the article and then completed the graphic organizer.

In Class: The students will read page 155 in the text. They then will be given a handout (Dear John Letter) and a worksheet to complete after they read the Letter. Once they finish with the worksheet they will read a copy of the Declaration of Independence and compare it to the Letter.

JIG-SAW Activity Starts Today - Amer. Rev.

In Class: The students will be placed in homogeneous groups by number. This will be a four day activity to find the long term and immediate causes of the American Revolution. Each day the students will have a worksheet and will locate the answers to that day's questions.

Oglethorpe Comes To Georgia

In Class: Today the students are starting a project (Power Point) on the colonization of Georgia. The students will be put into groups of three. Today they will be working on some research (on a guided worksheet) that they will need to put their Power Point together. We will work on this in class today through Friday. Next Monday, Oct., 6th, the students will present their Power Points. They will be graded by a rubric centering on correct and detailed information, graphs, charts, and reability of the Power Point. Other categories include: Professionalism in delivery; speaking voice; and degree of content knowledge.
