In Class: Today the students had a Pop Quiz on the differences between the North and South during the Antebellum period in Georgia. They then were given a worksheet and had to describe the Social Ladder in Georgia during the Antebellum period.

Graph: Slave increase and Cotton Production

In Class: Today the students used two handouts (slave increase per decade and cotton production per decade) to graph the correlation between slave increase and cotton production. If we have enough time they will then begin a CLOZE activity on pages 184-188 on "Life on the Georgia Frontier."

Economic growth in early Georgia

In Class: Today the students read pages 180-181 in the text and reported on how the Cotton Gin had an impact on ecomonic growth in early Georgia. They then were given handouts on slave increase and cotton production over a fifty year period and graphed these events.
