Project on Early Civil Rights leaders

In Class: Today the students will begin a week long project with their presentations due this Friday. Each group will be assigned an early Civil Rights leader c. late 19th and early 20th centuries and design a newspaper that will include an article on the person as well as an advertisement on the International Cotton Exposition and an editorial on the county Unit System.

In Class: Today the students were put into groups of three. They were given a handout with the 15 services we looked at and discussed yesterday. They then had to divide a county budget of $100 million dollars between these services and justify why each area received the amount of money it got.
